Immigration Attorney in Northern California
Protecting Your Rights in Removal/Deportation Proceedings
If you face removal or deportation proceedings, you want an experienced lawyer to protect your rights. The immigration laws and procedures are complex; you want an attorney who understands the law and the process, one who has successfully helped others in similar situations.
At the Law Offices of Daniel E. Chavez, we have protected the rights of individuals in immigration matters for over 30 years. The only lawyer in Sonoma County who is board-certified in immigration and nationality law by the state of California, attorney Chavez works hard to stay current with all developments in immigration law, so that we can provide the highest level of legal service to our clients. Contact our office or call us at 707-766-0471 (toll-free at 888-432-6097) to schedule an appointment.
Our Deportation/Removal Defense Practice
We handle all matters related to removal defense proceedings (also known as deportation, exclusion or cancellation proceedings). The cases that we handle tend to fall into two broad categories:
- you have been unable to get a green card. You entered the country illegally and have applied for a green card, but your application has been denied.
- you can't keep your green card. You may have entered the United States legally, but have overstayed, committed a crime that subjects you to deportation, or the government has ruled your marriage to an American citizen to be fake.
We have considerable experience in removal defense proceedings, including situations involving allegations of criminal acts. We have extensively represented parents with special needs children, or parents whose children were born in the United States and would suffer "exceptional and extremely unusual hardship" if you are not allowed to stay in the country.
When you bring your removal defense concerns to us, we will use our experience to carefully assess your case, so that we can give you an honest indication of whether you should challenge the deportation action. We will not unnecessary get your hopes up if we don't believe you have a reasonable chance of succeeding in your claim.
